About Me

Picture of me

I’m a game designer and developer whose primary focus is on crafting narrative and gameplay experiences based on my various interests and the diversity of human experiences through game design. I do not restrict myself by genre, but within all the games I design, I pride myself on creating dynamic, rich characters and stories that ask questions about identity, the self, and society in ways ranging from light and fun to grim and sophisticated. I have created a game portfolio that shows my capabilities as a storyteller, artist and programmer.

I enjoy both creating narrative experiences as well as strange and absurd gameplay. I want to create games that convey feelings through narrative that can only be experienced through the interactive. I’ve always enjoyed games that combine the absurd and the off kilter to make truly unique game experiences and I hope to be able to emulate that through the games I will produce.

I am a skilled programmer, writer and illustrator. I’ve been building up my programming since 2013 and my illustration and writing for longer. I have experience with Unity, GameMaker, Ren’Py, Twine, RPG Maker, Adventure Game Studio, Python, C#, Arduino, Java, HTML, and Javascript. My writing portfolio includes essays, research papers, short stories, poems and nonfiction prose. My illustration ranges from traditional sketching, watercolour painting, digital painting, digital drawing, and animation. I have displayed a range of this work on this website, and my games combine all of these skills.

I am interested in representing the underrepresented in my works: disabled people, neurodiverse people, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQQIP2SAA individuals and women. While progress is being made in representing diverse voices, in video games especially, I believe there’s an opportunity to improve the representation of people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Video games include very few female, nonbinary, LGBTQQIP2SAA, BIPOC, neurodiverse or disabled protagonists. I have focused a large amount of my work on creating characters that represent diverse experiences in my protagonists, secondary characters, tertiary characters, and background characters. Diversity, richness and creativity permeate my work.

Beyond just representing diverse voices, my work seeks to explore the fundamentals of being human. Whether the character is a vampire, demon, werewolf or robot, I want to use them as a lens to talk about humanity, sexuality and self. I want to show different elements of what it means to be alive and be human in an interactive medium. I want to explore all elements of humanity, including diversity.
